Woodshed

Terms of Service

Last updated: 14 October 2026

The software

Woodshed is free and open source software distributed under the MIT License. The licence text governs your rights to use, copy, modify, and redistribute it, and is included with the source code.

No account

Woodshed is an app that runs on your phone. There is no account and nothing to sign up for. These terms cover the app, its problem report service and this website. Videos you play come from YouTube or Vimeo, under each service's own terms.

Tune data

Woodshed's list of standards gives titles, composers, forms and keys for practice. It holds no lead sheets or recordings. Keys and other details were researched in bulk and some may be wrong; reporting a problem from the tune's page helps fix them.

Problem reports

Reports you send become public GitHub issues. Keep them about the app, and leave out anything personal. Reports that are abusive or spam are removed.

Support

Support on Ko-fi is a voluntary gift. It buys nothing in the app, and Woodshed works the same with or without it.

No warranty

Woodshed is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the software or its use. Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Changes

If these terms change, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
